CUTEK® Timber Coatings Perth WA
Complete protection with CUTEK® timber oils
CUTEK® offers a unique type of timber protection that is specifically designed for Australian conditions. As an oil-based wood preservative, CUTEK® penetrates deep into the timber to ensure it maintains a healthy moisture level. Other brands simply coat the outside of the timber, which tends to peel off or crack over time and does nothing to balance the wood’s crucial moisture content.
Apart from protecting the wood, CUTEK® also enhances the natural colour and grain of the timber. Whatever wood you’re using, you can rest safe knowing that CUTEK® will add longevity and stability.
- CUTEK® can be used on any species of timber
- CUTEK® can be used as a clear coating that allows the timber to grey off but remain nourished and stable
- CUTEK® provides a very natural look and won’t hide the timber grain
- CUTEK® has a range of colourtones to change the colour of your timber
- CUTEK® is Australian made for Australian conditions

CUTEK® Extreme CD50
CUTEK® Extreme CD50 offers long-lasting protection for all types of wood. It comes as a clear oil, which brings out the natural colour of the timber. Maintenance is easy! You don’t need to sand the wood, simply clean it and add another coat. Colourtones can be added to CUTEK® Extreme CD50 to change the colour of your timber. This makes it easy when changing your exterior design or décor.
CUTEK® Wood Preservative
CUTEK® Wood Preservative is easy to apply and specifically designed to handle Australia’s harsh weather conditions. This makes it the preferred choice for larger commercial and government projects. The oil penetrates deep into the wood to prevent damage from mould or termites and helps the timber maintain a healthy moisture level. You can use Cutek® Wood Preservative with CUTEK® Colourtones to change the colour of your timber or use it as a clear oil and allow your timber to naturally ‘silver off’.
CUTEK® Colourtones
When exposed to sunlight and UV over time, most timbers will develop a silver patina. Adding CUTEK® Colourtone to CD50 Extreme or Wood Preservative will help maintain the natural colour of your timber. There are over 16 colour variations to choose from to match a variety of popular timbers and designs.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. You don’t need to sand the timber before applying either CUTEK® Extreme CD50 or CUTEK® Wood Preservative. The CUTEK® oil works differently to regular wood protection as it soaks into the wood rather than creating a film on the outside.
CUTEK® Extreme CD50 and Wood Preservative soak into the timber, so rather than drying, it goes through a diffusion process. This diffusion process can vary depending on the timber’s species, density and current moisture content. If you’re applying a second coat, check that the timber is completely dry before doing so.
When first applying CUTEK® oil on timber, it’s best to add at least two coats on all sides. You will know that you’ve added enough oil when water successfully beads on the exterior. If you’re unsure or need expert advice, feel free to contact our team.
It’s advised to only add CUTEK® to clean and dry timber. Existing coatings may prevent the oil from soaking into the timber, and this will halt the diffusion process. Use CUTEK® Wood Stripper to remove any previous coatings and then add your preferred CUTEK® oil protection.
Absolutely. In fact, CUTEK® is one of the best timber protection products to use around water as it controls the moisture content of the timber from within. Be aware that water and pool chemicals will have an impact on the colour of your timber over time, so if you’re using colourtones with your CUTEK® oil protection, those colours may be affected.
